*IMPORTANT UPDATES*
On January 1, 2024, the 2021 Illinois Energy Conservation Code will go into effect. This is a mandated code adopted by the State which all Illinois municipalities must enforce. Any permits submitted on ar after January 1, 2024 must comply with the new code.
The Village of Hoffman Estates has adopted the 2021 International Codes, 2020 National Electrical Code, and applicable State of Illinois codes which are effective for all permit submissions received on July 1, 2023 or thereafter. Permits: Apply for and track building permits for home and building improvements like decks, fences, driveways, etc. Learn about residential project requirements here. Contractors: Search for contractors registered in Hoffman Estates. Inspections: Schedule inspections with the Development Services Department.Planning & Development Projects: Submit documents and applications as required for projects pertaining to the Planning and Zoning Commission, such as a project requiring a variance.Report a Problem: Report code violations and other issues to be addressed by the Development Services Department.
